Our Vision

We believe the purpose of our existence as the Power of God Assemblies is:
•Effect a change in the lives of people world wide
•Bringing about a divine impact on families, tribes, nations and on the world
For this to be accomplished, a three-pronged approach will be adopted:
a)Evangelize our immediate environment through the use of any means available the local church will endeavour to advance the Kingdom of God by winning the lost. To this end, the power of God is prepared to engage in any campaign, be it an evangelistic crusade or even missionary work outside the country. (Matthew 28:19-20)
b)To train and equip believers for work of service in Kingdom building. This involves teaching and instructing believers in the word of God so they will become obedient followers of Christ and grow to spiritual maturity. In this way believers are incorporated to become participating and contributing members in the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
c)To relate the church to the community establishing links with the existing social structures, e.g. councillors. To promote Kingdom mindedness as we live and fully express the love of God in word and deed. The church will make Christian life a public affair than a private affair, representing the Kingdom of God as ‘Ambassadors’ in every sphere of our influence. (2 Corinthians 5:20 and Matthew 5:14)

Our Pastors

Apostle Khaya Lurwengu is a Lecturer by profession, a husband and a father of three beautiful daughters. He is blessed to be married to Nosipho Lurwengu, a God – fearing woman and a Lady Pastor. God has called Apostle Khaya Lurwengu into the ministry to serve and fully operate in the offices of an Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher and an Apostle. He is an Executive member of Power of God Assemblies and Senior Pastor of East London POGA and a Chairman of Border-Kei POGA Regional Committee, serving under the authority and supervision of Bishop Cliff & Gugu Mthembu

He was ordained to being a Pastor by Bishop Cliff Mthembu, ordained to being a Reverend Minister by Bishop Dah Heward-Mills and ordained to fully operate in the office of an Apostle by Bishop Cliff Mthembu. And eversince, the flame burning in his heart to plunder hell and populate heaven has been on a blaze. He has impacted so many lives over the years and has trained and brought up people who would also serve and run with the vision of advancing the kingdom of God. He has been preaching the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ since 1995 and has a strong passion for winning the lost back to God at all cost with diverse outreach programs (ie radio, tent crusades) to mention just a few. He is so much of a blessing to the body of Christ, because, wherever he is, light beams and dispel darkness

He has a vision to plant one thousand (1000) churches in his lifetime as a gift to Jesus for shedding his blood to save him from his sins
